The correct insurance for commercial use always comes with an excess fee, typically ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 THB. The correct insurance code is 120, which offers coverage for vehicles used for rental purposes. The best protection available is first-class insurance, which provides comprehensive coverage, reducing the financial risk in the event of an accident or damage. Always make sure to check the insurance terms and consider taking a video or photos of the vehicle at the time of rental to avoid any disputes over pre-existing damage.
If you like to take the car off Samui, you need to mention this in advance to the rental company as many do not allow that the car will be taken off the island. Also EV cars are not allowed on the ferries.
