Foodpanda Says Goodbye to Thailand – End of an Era for Lazy Food Lovers

Food Trends

Well, it’s official: the golden age of ordering pad kra pao in your pajamas is about to end.

Foodpanda has announced it will shut down operations in Thailand by May 23, 2025.

Their parent company, Delivery Hero, decided that Thailand’s market wasn’t quite juicy enough to stick around. So after years of delivering bubble teas, burgers, and guilty-pleasure snacks across the island, the pink panda is making its final exit.

For many on Koh Samui, this marks the end of an era of glorious, lazy food convenience — a time when hunger met a few taps on a phone and a knock at the door.

What’s next for Koh Samui?

Good news:
Food delivery is still alive and kicking — and in some ways, it’s getting even better.

  • GrabFood: Still strong and growing, covering a huge number of restaurants with a slick app experience.
  • LINE MAN: A solid alternative offering food, groceries, and courier services — all at your fingertips.
  • ANT Delivery: A trusted local favorite here on Samui — reliable, friendly, and fast.

And let’s be honest: maybe it’s time to leave the couch once in a while.

Koh Samui is full of incredible places to eat, drink, and socialize — and you’ll find all the best options in our Food & Beverage category right here on Samui Social.

Explore new cafes, hidden cocktail bars, beachside restaurants, and authentic local gems — and enjoy island life the way it’s meant to be: out there, not in pajamas.
