Simple Ways to Stay Fresh

Travel Guides for Samui

Hot, sunny, wonderfully sticky Samui means you’ll burn through T-shirts and swimwear faster than expected. Between beach days, sunscreen, and the occasional tropical rain shower, the laundry pile builds up quickly.

The good news? Keeping your clothes clean here is easy, cheap, and completely stress-free. Pack light — the island does the rest.

Your Options (Pick What Fits Your Day)

1) Hotel Laundry (fastest, priciest)

Hand your laundry bag to reception in the morning and it usually comes back washed, dried, and folded the same day.
It’s the easiest option, especially for families, but expect the highest prices — often double what local shops charge.

2) Local Laundry Shops (best value, often with pickup/delivery)

Walk-in “wash–dry–fold” shops are everywhere around Samui.
Typical rates: 30–60 THB per kilo depending on area and season.

What to expect:

  • 24–48 hour turnaround

  • Same-day service at some shops

  • Many offer pick-up and delivery

  • Bags can be returned straight to your hotel reception

This is the best balance of price, convenience, and quality for most visitors.

3) Self-Service Laundromats (do it yourself, done in ~1 hour)

Coin or QR-operated laundromats have popped up all over the island, many open 24/7.
They’re clean, simple to use, and ideal if you want everything done now.

How it works:

  • Wash cycles: 30–40 minutes

  • Dryers billed in short blocks (often 10–15 min ≈ 10 THB)

  • Great for longer stays or when you need temperature control for activewear or kids’ clothes

Perfect if you want fresh clothes tonight, not tomorrow.

When to Choose What

Hotel laundry:
You want zero admin — drop, forget, done.

Local laundry shop:
Best value + easy pickup/delivery. Ideal if you don’t have a scooter.

Self-service laundromat:
You need it quickly or want full control over wash/dry settings.

Final Tip

On Samui, laundry doesn’t need planning. Choose whatever fits your schedule that day, keep the packing light, and you’ll be back on the beach before your towels are even dry.
